Tapered roller bearings are made up of two parts. The inner being the cone and the outer being the cup.
The construction is intended to handle combination loads such as dual acting axial and radial loads.
One of the biggest advantages of tapered roller bearings is to reduce friction and in turn reduce the heat which can be generated.
They are found in many applications such as
– Car hubs
– Bike headstocks
– Gearboxes
– Agricultural equipment
– propellers to name but a few due to the amount of radial and thrust loads that they can carry.
